Ibanez Guitars

Never to be accused of sitting on their laurels, Ibanez demonstrated their innovative approach to the guitar with an amazing display at the NAMM music instrument convention in southern California.

The star of the show was the JEM 20th Anniversary model (left), with eight LEDs built into the body. Other announcements were:

• Bachand’s (Shadows Fall) new signature model, the MBM1
• Building on the success of Mick Thomson’s (Slipknot) signature MTM1 which came out last year, Ibanez announced the MTM2.
• The much anticipated Ibanez 8-string guitar (RG2228).
• With familiar looks and design, the RG20th Anniversary models stay true to the original RG550, while improving on some of its features.
• two new signature basses – the MDB1 Mike D’Antonio (Killswitch Engage) model, and the PGB1 Paul Gray (Slipknot) model.
• The Sound Gear 20th Anniversary model.
